Arie Dubnov

Jew by birth, agnostic by formation and cast of mind; Intellectual and cultural history, 19-20th centuries, Jewish and non-Jewish, and recently interested in digital humanities to track and reconstruct flow of ideas, intellectuals networks etc.

Academic life was spent primarily at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem before moving to Stanford in late 2009; recently published my first book, "Isaiah Berlin: The Journey of a Jewish Liberal" (Palgrave-Macmillan,2012). Enjoy watching Slavoj Žižek on screen and on stage more than and countering him in print, and although I admit the sin of quoting him once or twice I don't believe he is as deep as he pretends to be.
